Every model cools and heats, runs on a standard 230 V supply and shares the same 549 mm height and 165 mm depth. The difference is output — from 1.73 kW for a bedroom or study to 2.87 kW for a living room.

Room sizes are a guide for a typical UK room with a standard 2.4 m ceiling. Sun-facing glazing, poor insulation, high ceilings or a busy kitchen all push the requirement up, so we confirm the right size on a free survey before anything is ordered.
nanoe™ X · Generator Mark 3
Cleaner air, working even while it's quiet.
nanoe™ X technology releases hydroxyl radicals wrapped in water — tiny, long-lasting particles that travel through the room and onto surfaces. It's built into all four RAC Solo models.

Helps inhibit certain bacteria, viruses, mould and allergens in the air and on surfaces.
Breaks down everyday smells — cooking, pets, smoke — rather than masking them.

Can run on its own, independent of cooling or heating, so the room is treated year-round.

Installation
Fitted from inside, usually in a day.
RAC Solo is a sealed, self-contained unit, so there's no refrigerant pipework to run. All it needs is an outside wall to breathe through — high on the wall or down at floor level.

Two core holes
Drilled from inside with a template — 162 mm (202 mm for the Solo 30), 293 mm apart.
Mount and connect
Chassis fixed, unit hung, external grilles fitted. Plugs into a standard 230 V supply.

Wi-Fi paired to the app, remote set up, and a walk-through of every mode.

Self-closing grille
The air outlet opens only while the unit runs, then closes to a clean, flat front.
Wi-Fi built in
Control from your phone with the Panasonic Aquarea Home app, or use the on-board display and IR remote.
No-frost system
A pre-heated condensate tray keeps heating running in cold snaps, down to −15 °C outside.
DC Inverter
Speeds up and slows down to hold the temperature steadily, instead of cycling on and off.
Dehumidifies
Pulls 0.7–1.2 litres of moisture an hour out of the air, depending on the model.
Lower-GWP refrigerants
Solo 16 uses natural R290; Solos 20, 25 and 30 use R32. Sealed at the factory, never handled on site.

Good to know before you book.
Is it as powerful as a split system?
RAC Solo is sized for single rooms up to around 30 m². For larger open-plan spaces a split system, or two Solo units, will usually be the better answer — we'll tell you honestly on the survey.
How loud is it outside?
The grilles are the only thing outside. Sound pressure at 2 m ranges from 36 dB(A) on low to 49–53 dB(A) on high, depending on the model.
Will it heat my room in winter?
Yes. Every model works as a heat pump, keeps running down to −15 °C outside, and still delivers 1.13–1.81 kW of heat at −7 °C.
Where can it go on the wall?
High on the wall or down at skirting level, in the middle of a wall or near a corner — as long as it's on an outside wall. If the wall behind it isn't external, a side-exit kit can redirect the airflow.
What about condensate?
Condensate is handled through the wall. On heating models an extra small drain may be needed; we check this, and whether a drain-pipe heater kit is worthwhile, during the survey.
